In addition to the many small activities we undertake to help feral, abandoned, and lost cats, Fabulous Felines conducts several larger, ongoing efforts. These include Project Apollo, a project in managing a feral colony, and a broad education and outreach effort to raise people's understanding of the plight, value, and rights of feral cats. |
Project Apollo

Fabulous Felines operates an active rescue and feral colony management program. Lost, abandoned, and feral cats gather in colonies; if left alone, the animals follow nature's course, leading to an exponentially growing population. Because truly feral cats (those born in the colony) are essentially wild animals, they are difficult to adopt as companion animals. We are actively managing a feral colony, and have named this effort Project Apollo after one of the first cats we TNR'd (left). |
Education and Outreach
 Ultimately, the only solution to the tragedy of lost, abandoned, and feral cats is education. In 2010, we presented a Celebration of Cats, a day-long effort to educate people about the needs of both companion and feral cats, and are working on more programs for 2011. Our goal is to help all people who adopt a cat or kitten must recognize their responsiblity for spaying or neutering their new companion, for keeping it indoors, and for giving it love, food, and veterinary care throughout its life.
