(October 24, 2009) We will be holding a food drive at Pet Vet Market on Saturday, October 24 from 12 to 3. Please stop by, shop the selection of pet supplies at the market, and drop bags or cans of cat food off at our table on your way out. For directions and map, see the Pet Vet web site.

(October 17, 2009) This New Mexico Autumn has been beautiful and busy, as we continue to grow in our efforts to help cats. One of our more satisfying outreach efforts has us taking some of our friendlier rescued cats to visit residents of the Alzheimer's unit at the Woodmark in Albuquerque. It is remarkable to see how even the most seriously affected people respond to the trust and gentleness shown by these animals.

One woman had just arrived at the unit, and had not stopped crying . . . until she held a rescued cat named Angelo in her lap. A family member of another resident said that petting an abandoned cat named Vilnius was the most responsive he had seen his mother in months. Sincerest thanks to the Woodmark staff, and to all of our supporters for making this work possible. For more, see our Education and Outreach page.

Another exciting piece of news is our new partnership with Shaklee that allows you to purchase these fine nutritional, personal care, and household products through Fabulous Felines. This is a simple way to help us: just go to our Shaklee/Fabulous Felines web site, order products at normal prices, and part of the proceeds go to our organization. For more information, see our Participate page.
Our last bit of news is that we spent the morning today at a Publicity Workshop put on by Tom Guralnick of the Outpost Performance Space. For more than twenty years, The Outpost has brought some of the world's most innovative, thoughtful, and downright exhilarating music to Albuquerque, and Tom has graciously shared the things he has learned about planning and promoting events through a series of free workshops. Tom's insights will definitely help our organization. We wish to thank him for all he has done for our community - and for Fabulous Felines. We urge you to support and enjoy the Outpost Performance Space and the terrific performers it brings to town.

(September 12, 2009) Our Summer Fundraiser was a success! Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, contributors, and the generosity of the staff, management, and residents of the Woodmark, who gave us the use of their community room, we shared a lovely afternoon of music, art, food, silent auction, and companionship with our friends.

(August 3, 2009) We are holding our Summer 2009 Fundraiser on August 29, 2009, from 2:00 to 6:00 at the Woodmark at Uptown. There will be food, music, a silent auction, conversation with other people who care about animals, and a chance to learn more about the work we are doing. Tickets are $20 per person / $30 per couple. For more information or to buy tickets . . .

(June 8, 2009) We held our most recent fundraiser at Pet Vet Market on June 7. It was a beautiful day with a shot clinic, music, friendship, and our own Fabulous Felines table where we received generous donations of food and money to support our foster house. Our thanks to wonderful people at Pet Vet. We look forward to joining them again soon!

(April 2, 2009) Contributors to our Wild Love Fundraiser were entered in a drawing to win a dinner certificate at Bravo Italian Restaurant. We are delighted to announce that the winner of dinner at Bravo was Mrs. H. Armijo. Our deepest thanks to both Mrs. Armijo and to Bravo Italian Restaurant for their generous support!

(March 8, 2009) The new year has been particularly eventful for our small cat rescue. Because many larger groups are currently full, and currently not accepting animals, the burden has shifted to smaller groups to help those in need. Most of the people who find us have already tried all of the more prominent groups. If you can volunteer or contribute in any way, please see our "Participate" page.
