We all have experienced the deep emotional connection we form with our companion animals. Many of us have eperienced the deep sense of loss we feel should we lose a beloved pet. Perhaps it is because the connection we have with our animals is non-verbal and so directly emotional, but these losses bring about a unique kind of grief that is particularly difficult to manage. This talk will provide you with a better understanding of how to cope with the emotions of an impending loss of a pet. It will also discuss how we can access services to help us through our grief, and to celebrate our best pal’s life.
Ann Beyke, M.A. LPC, is a counselor in private practice in Albuquerque, providing individual and group counseling on the emotional cost of losing a pet. You can learn more about Ann and her work by visiting her web site, and by joining us for this talk.
